The second installment of the Tra Palco e Realtà project took young people on a deep journey into emotions, guided by Prof. Alberto Pellai.
Kicking things off, two memorable quotes from the guests: actor Giuseppe Sartori urged the young attendees to "go beyond boredom," inviting them to overcome apathy and discover new energies; while director and artistic director Giuliano Peparini emphasized the importance of "nurturing your talents," reminding everyone that every passion deserves careful cultivation.
Spotlight then on the performances from the participating high schools. Liceo Farnesina delighted with a short excerpt from Aristophanes' The Clouds, an ironic and timeless tribute to the search for truth. Liceo Albertelli presented Do You Know the Minotaur?, a modern adaptation of the myth that explores acceptance and inclusivity, showing how ancient stories can speak to today's themes with freshness and sensitivity.
The star of the show was Prof. Alberto Pellai, who shared illuminating reflections on adolescence and the role of theater. "We must return to living in the real world – he said – Theater immerses you in a real-life situation, and there you are with your entire body and real life reflecting within a totally real stage setup." Among the key themes:
Managing anxiety: there's "good" anxiety that, like a drawn bow, enhances performance, and "bad" anxiety that becomes harmful if not released.
Relationship with the digital world: from the "brainrot" of digital tragedies to the need to balance screens and authentic relationships.
Real experiences like theater: essential to counter isolation and rediscover the body in action.
Fear and surprise: core emotions of adolescence, when one is exposed to the unknown for the first time.
Embracing boredom: only this way can one discover the beauty of one's passions.
